WES Tulipo

The Tulipo is a small and innovative 2,5 kW wind turbine.

The Tulipo was nominated for the prestigious Dutch Design Award. The Tulipo is an upwind turbine with an active jaw mechanism. The Tulipo has specially designed blades and relatively low rpm, it emits almost no noise or vibrations, this is unique for a wind turbine of this size.

The Tulipo is a beautiful, relaiable and by far the most quit turbine in its class. But this comes with a price, the Tulipo is not the most afordable 2,5 kW wind turbine on the market.

The Tulipo needs minimum maintenance and it is fully automatic.  The beautiful curves, it's user-friendliness and double safety features makes it ideal for placement on or near buildings. The Tulipo is a wind turbine and a powerful marketing tool. Placing a Tulipo creates a strong and positive image that you care for the environment! Tulipo's can be delivered in any colour.

Applications:

A Tulipo is ideal for commercial chains that have outlets in suburbanisation or near highways. For example:
  • Chain stores.
  • Gasstation chains.
  • Fast food restaurants chains.
  • Restaurants chains.
  • Hotel chains.
Besides chains the Tulipo can be used in individual applications aswell. For example:
  • Private residences.
  • Schools.
  • Public buildings.
  • Sport facilities.

Special design:

The Tulipo has a very modern and unique design, fixed pitch and upwind rotor with variable speed and designed for grid-connected operations. It has a safety active jaw mechanism, so that no tail vane is used. The jaw motor has a battery charged back up system.

The Tulipo works fully automatic under all weather conditions. The turbine will start automatically at a wind speed of 3 m/s (wind force 2) and will start producing your own green electricity.

The Tulipo has a tower height of 12 meter and weighs only 940 kg
